Descrizione : Il Raya, un piccolo albergo premiato per scelta di un pubblico selezionato con un prestigioso award come il miglior hotel di charme del mediterraneo, per molti un cult hotel, e per gli amanti della natura e della serenità il luogo ideale dove ritrovare se stessi.
Il Raya Alto:
arroccato sul pendio della collina, piccolo borgo eoliano,
in un parco naturale di lentisco, ulivi, bouganvillee,
ibiscus. 30 stanze con grandi terrazze protese verso lo
Stromboli, affacciate su un mare dai mille toni blu dal
quale emergono gli isolotti che coronano l?isola. Un piccolo
bar offre dalle prime ore del mattino un piacevole inizio di
giornata. La vera prima colazione si farà poi, sino a
mezzogiorno, alla terrazza sul mare del ristorante sul
promontorio di ?Peppe-Maria?. - Il Raya
basso: vi si arriva scendendo dalla collina, in
meno di 5 minuti. Una bella casa segnalata da Italia Da
Salvare ?quale espressione perfetta di inserimento in un
contesto rurale-urbano?. 6 camere al piano superiore , 3
vista a mare, 3 sulla la collina, dotate di ogni confort.-
Il Raya Peppe Maria,
proteso sul mare, ospita la cosiddetta ?zona servizi ? Il
promontorio di ?Peppe-Maria? deve il suo nome ad una
cappelletta bianca che una volta ospitava la Santa Coppia e
dove ora ci sta solo Maria, per ragioni di buon-costume
raccontava anni fa, ridendo, il parroco del paese. E? qui
che si ricevono i clienti al loro arrivo ed è sempre qui che
si può fare la vera prima colazione a buffet.
Dalle 18 alle 21 sulla terrazza più alta, sorseggiando un aperitivo preparato ad arte si può godere della miriade di colori che il sole crea tramontando dietro l?isola e riflettendosi sugli scogli antistanti.
Dalle 21 a mezzanotte si può cenare alle soffici luci dei lumi a petrolio (biologico) e, sotto una cupola di stelle, gustare squisiti piatti di una cucina che si fa vanto di essere stata forse la prima ad usare solo prodotti biodinamici.

Raya is a small hotel which in
2004 was awarded (Marco Polo Awards) with the choice of an
international public, which defined it as one of the most
beautiful ?hotel de charme? in the Mediterannean. It is for
many a ?cult hotel?, but its owner describes it as ?nothing,
two stars, just a place where nature lovers can find peace
and have time for themselves?. It is not a place to visit if
one doesn?t like walking or if one is looking for a hotel
which works like a Swiss clock.
Is an hotel with a very interesting history?- It is divided into three different ?locations?, each with its own purpose, each one is close to the other in order not to create an environmental impact which is not well suited to this small magical island: Il Raya Alto: situated on the hill slope, a small Eolie village in a natural park of lentos, olives, bougainvillea and hibiscus. 30 rooms with large terraces which face Stromboli and a sea of a thousand shades pf blue from which the small islands which surround the main island emerge.
A small bar offers from early morning a way to start off the day in a most pleasant manner.
Breakfast is served until mid-day on the restaurant terrace looking out to the sea from the ?Peppe-Maria? headland. Raya basso: it takes just 5 minutes to reach the Raya by going down the hill. A beautiful house which has been recognised by Italy To Be Saved ?as a perfect example of inclusion in a rural-urban context?.
There are 6 bedrooms on the upper floor, 3 with sea view and 3 with a view of the hills, all fully equipped with all comforts. Raya Peppe Maria, projecting over the sea hosts the so-called ?service area?. The ?Peppe-Maria? headland owes its name to a small white church which in the past hosted the Saintly Couple and where today Maria remains alone, for bon-ton reasons the priest used to say years ago laughing. The guests arrive here and the area provides also the buffet breakfast. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the upper terrace, aperitifs are serves where it is possible to admire the maze of colours created by the sun setting behind the island and reflecting its rays on the surrounding rocks. From 9 p.m. dinner is served in a wonderful atmosphere created by the oil (biological) lamps and a starry sky where it is possible to taste exquisite cuisine which is one of the first to use only biodynamic products.
